This show was held
in Bozeman, MT during the Labour Day long weekend of
August 30 - September 2, 2013, and hosted by the
Bridger Mountain Pony Car Club.
This was the third
time that Bozeman had hosted the
International since its inception, with great weather once again
ruling the day. This years Show and Shine was held at Bozeman Ford,
a partner of the event.
There were 401 cars registered this year. Once again there was
certainly a large contingent of the '05-'09 Mustangs and Shelbys, as
well as a good number of 2010-13's.
Featured during the
weekend were a large number of Boss 302's, and Boss 429's. Most show
participants had never seen this many Boss's in one place before, so
this was certainly a highlight for some. There were in fact 3
Calypso Coral 1970 Boss 429's in attendance. According to Ed Meyer,
head SAAC judge who was a guest at the International, this had not
happened before at other events.
Also on hand as a
guest was George Follmer, famed race car driver. Mustang fans would
recognize the name for participating in the Trans Am series in 1969
and 1970, driving of course, a Boss 302. Another highlight for some,
was a Q&A with Ed and George on Saturday night.
There were a large number of
stock and modified Mustangs, Bullitt's, SVT Cobra's, and once
again a large number of the Mustangs on hand being
2005 and newer. This trend is certainly continuing.
There were many AMAC
members who made the trip down to Bozeman; with some making the trek over two
days, while some drove the full stretch in a single day. It appears
that 39 AMAC Club cars participated, and their owners collected a
total of 25 trophies for the Show and Shine. There were also other
Calgary-area cars that were in Bozeman, also winning awards. The Club
once again brought back the "Club Participation Award" for 2013,
for the third year in a row. As well,
members participated in the other events including a P-51 Mustang
photo shoot, and several cruises.
There were some
great meals served up by some of the local establishments. There was great
hospitality put on by people in Bozeman, and with a lot of volunteers this
was certainly a successful weekend; for which they can be very proud
of. Hope to see you in 2014 in Richmond (Vancouver), BC for IMM 35.
Here are just a few of the
photos taken that weekend.
