31st International Mustang Meet Photos

This show was held in Red Deer, AB during the long weekend of   September 3-6, 2010, and hosted by the Ford Central Car Club.

Red Deer has now hosted the International twice since its inception, with their first time being in 1998. This years Show and Shine was held at the host hotel, the Capri Hotel. The weather threatened moisture, but was quite nice for the entire weekend. A lot of us had not seen many of the Mustangs and other Fords that attended this event, and everyone had a great time. This turned out to be the largest International ever, with 502 cars registered. There were a couple no-shows, but the parking lot was overflowing, and several cars that arrived at noon on Saturday were turned away. There was no more room as many cars were parked on the grass boulevard beside the parking lots. Once again there was certainly a large contingent of the '05-'09 Mustangs and Shelbys, as well as a good number of 2010-11's. Some of the other Fords and Mercurys included Fairlanes, pickups, Falcons, Torinos, and more. There were a large number of modified Mustangs, SVTs, lots of early fastbacks, and as has been seen across North America at other Mustang and Ford shows, a huge percentage of the cars on hand are 2005 and newer. This trend is certain to continue.

The Poker Rally on Sunday morning had 87 hands played, as many people, along with some "co-pilots" got out for a cruise across the Central Alberta prairie. There were more than 500 people at the Sunday night Awards Banquet, where there were 145 trophies handed out. There was great hospitality put on by Red Deer, and with a lot of volunteers this was certainly a successful weekend. Hope to see you next year in Spokane.

Here are just a few of the photos taken that weekend.
